Welcome to the Center of Biological & Cultural Diversity (CBCD).

 Our vision is to contribute towards the formation and dispersion of a new social ethos according to which humans will understand, recognize, manage and conserve the biological and cultural diversity as having an intrinsic value.

Under this light, the Center aims:

1. to contribute to the maintenance of the extraordinary variety of life on Earth, with special focus on the mountain ecosystems of Greece and Europe. 
2. to contribute to the maintenance of the great cultural heritage and tradition, with special focus on the mountainous communities of Greece and Europe

The Greek Summer School is the first initiative of the Center, co-organizing it with the

European Section of the Society for Conservation Biology and the University of Ioannina
